ONE Control 1.5 is here!

As announced, 1.5 marks the beginning of a new era for ONE Control. This update is the first major step toward a faster, smarter, more modular platform.

You asked for it, and now it’s a reality. You can now freely rotate your device!

Whether you’re building a compact rig or just prefer a vertical layout for your faders and pads, ONE Control now seamlessly adapts. This fundamentally changes how you interact with your workspace, giving you the freedom to mount your iPad exactly how it fits your setup best.

Why build from scratch when you can build together? The new Creators Library is your hub to share templates with the entire community.

  • Curated publishing: Discover high-quality, community-tested layouts.
  • Rating and download counts: Easily spot the most popular and effective controllers.

It’s never been easier to get started or to show off your ultimate custom rig.

This is a big one: Modular Controllers can now react to incoming MIDI.

Until now, modular controllers were able to send data out only. With MIDI IN, components can be updated by an external MIDI source, meaning ONE Control can now behave like a true live surface that stays in sync with your rig.

What this unlocks in practice:

  • Bidirectional-style workflows (even with devices that don’t officially “talk back” the old way)
  • Live feedback modules: values, states, toggles, indicators updated in real time
  • Smarter performance setups: your controller reflects what’s happening now, not what you last touched
  • Learn mode to quickly assign MIDI action: Stop menu-diving. Just hit Learn, touch your hardware, and the mapping is instantly captured!

This is one of those features that quietly changes what’s possible.

Keep your hands on your gear. You can now control ONE Control itself from external MIDI sources.

  • Preset change: Switch your entire app state instantly with a stompbox or remote controller.
  • Page change: Navigate through your modular controller pages without ever touching the screen.

Automation is getting sharper and more powerful, with improvements aimed at advanced control without adding complexity.

New & improved:

  • New Events and Actions UI — A completely redesigned interface that makes building complex automations visual, intuitive, and blisteringly fast.
  • SysEx editor — for devices that live beyond standard CC/NRPN, with deeper configuration and precision control
  • New Passthrough action — route incoming messages through your automation flow more cleanly, enabling more flexible chains and setups
  • Fresher and cleaner Automation UI

These changes are part of the “new era” direction: more capability, less friction.

We’ve overhauled the interface to keep you in the creative flow. Everything looks better and works faster.

  • New controller browser: Instantly jump back in with the new Recents and Favorites views.
  • Side inspector: Lightning-fast edits for controllers and controls without losing context of your layout.
  • iPadOS 26 compatibility: Fully optimized for the latest iPadOS with improved visual design.

A set of meaningful upgrades to how you build, edit, and operate controllers, focused on speed and flow.

Highlights:

  • Copy / Paste of a controller page.
Duplicate complex layouts instantly. Great for creating variations, banks, or device-specific versions without rebuilding.
  • Quick Paste Module from the “Add Module” button
Faster iteration while designing: add what you already prepared immediately, right where you need it.
  • Faster and smarter Numeric Pad input
Less tapping, fewer steps, quicker entry, especially for values you change often.
  • Bank support for Presets
Easily organize and switch between large sets of presets using standard MIDI Bank messages.
  • UI refinements
Lots of small polish that adds up: cleaner interactions, tighter layout behavior, and a smoother overall feel.
